Dr. Deus Bazira, Director of the Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI), has been profiled by Udani Samarasekera in The Lancet. The article, titled “Deus Bazira: Finding New Solutions to Key Global Health Challenges,” discusses Dr. Bazira’s family’s influence on his commitment to solving problems in the world, which he has called his “mantra in life and career.” The article also highlights Dr. Bazira’s creation of CGHPI and his recent appointment as Director of the Georgetown University Global Health Institute (GUGHI).
In his future endeavors, Dr. Bazira aims to bring together researchers and educators to train the next generation of global health leaders at the Global Health Innovation Hub at GUGHI. He plans to do this by applying interdisciplinary approaches to find “novel solutions that make a real-world impact.”
