In African countries collectively, we manage a public-private partnership that facilitates broad stakeholder engagement in the development and deployment of future HIV cures to ensure rapid scalability in sub-Saharan Africa. This initiative aims to ensure that communities in resource-limited settings – those that are expected to benefit most from an HIV cure – are contributing to rollout planning, the development of target product profiles, and broader community education and awareness activities. By facilitating an increasingly connected community around an HIV cure, we are supporting efforts to build linkages for stronger patient and community input to cure research, as well as identifying probable barriers for future rollout and delivery. We are also working to enhance political leadership on COVID-19 response and other health security threats, strengthen platforms and partners to protect, increase, and better allocate resources for public health, as well as increase the capacity of governments and partners to manage processes to effectuate health finance reforms.
