Dr. Japhet Osuji is a Graduate Research Assistant with the ADVANCE team at the Center for Global Health Practice and Impact at Georgetown University. He is also a Master’s candidate in the Global Human Development Program at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, where his interests include global health, health systems, health policy, and international development.
Prior to joining Georgetown, Dr. Osuji practiced medicine in Nigeria and brings approximately five years of clinical experience to his work in global health and development. His professional experience includes health and development research, program implementation, and evidence generation, with a focus on translating research into practical approaches that strengthen health systems and improve outcomes for vulnerable populations. At CGHPI, he supports research and initiatives focused on advancing global health practice and impact and ending the HIV epidemic in the United States.
Dr. Osuji holds a Doctor of Medicine from V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University School of Medicine in Ukraine. His academic and professional work reflects his interest in bridging clinical experience, rigorous research, and development practice to address complex global health challenges.
