Ms. Hang Nguyen is a Ph.D. student in the Global Infectious Disease Program at Georgetown University School of Health and a Research Assistant at the Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI). She supports the Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. (EHE) initiative through technical assistance and program support for jurisdictions across the United States.
At Georgetown, Ms. Nguyen is advancing her expertise in social determinants of health, program evaluation, implementation science, and health policy. Her doctoral research focuses on evaluating the impact of government-funded housing assistance programs for people living with HIV/AIDS on HIV care outcomes. Previously, she worked for three years at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) Vietnam, where she contributed to research on Vietnamese and international healthcare students’ perspectives on clinical trials and human challenge studies, with a focus on dengue research, as well as project evaluation. She has also collaborated with the U.S. National Institutes of Health on research examining applications and ethical considerations of artificial intelligence in infectious disease diagnosis and prognosis.
Ms. Nguyen earned her medical degree in Preventive Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
