Dr. Lauren D. Wagner, PhD, MS is a Regional Technical Assistance Provider with the Center for Global Health Practice and Impact at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Wagner supports jurisdictions across the United States in advancing HIV program strategy, evaluation, and quality improvement efforts as part of the Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative.
Dr. Wagner brings extensive experience advancing HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs. Her areas of expertise include systems-level program strategy, clinical quality management, and cross-sector collaboration. Before joining Georgetown, she served as Director of Engagement Teams for Regions 3, 4, and 5 at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy, where she led multi-state engagement strategies across 17 states to strengthen HIV prevention and care infrastructure. Previously, she spent eight years at the Baltimore City Health Department as Deputy Director of Clinical Quality Management for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, where she directed system-wide quality improvement initiatives serving more than 10,000 people living with HIV. Earlier in her career, Dr. Wagner completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Health Resources and Services Administration. Her work focuses on strengthening systems of care through cross-sector collaboration and community-engaged approaches, using data-informed quality improvement strategies to improve linkage to care, retention, and viral suppression.
Dr. Wagner holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Health Services Research from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Norfolk State University as a full-scholarship scholar in the Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics and Applied Sciences (DNIMAS).
