The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) serves countries to improve their population health and well-being and to safeguard against health-related threats by advancing the use of evidence and human-centered enterprise architecture on the path towards achieving equity and social justice. To achieve this mission, we catalyze the uptake, spread, and implementation of innovations; triangulate data from different sources, and tailor visualization of the information for each audience; design and implement integrated service delivery models; support communities of practice to inform policy and practice through efficient data use and horizontal and vertical collaboration; disseminate best practices and evidence globally through open source learning networks; build global, collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and interprofessional networks; undertake research that is informed by local needs; and invest in local leadership to own, provide oversight, and sustain implemented interventions.
The CGHPI has recently received an award from the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through funding from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The program will support the Kingdom of Eswatini to provide comprehensive, quality assured care, treatment and prevention HIV/TB services in Manzini and Lubombo regions. As a result, CGHPI is recruiting for the following position, and seeks exceptional individuals to join the team and further enrich our unique offerings.
Job Location: Mbabane, Eswatini
Job Overview:
The Program Communications Specialist will provide internal coordination and facilitation of all program communication activities. This position will package and be the custodian of administrative work plans and schedules, plan and support program meetings including the proper documentation of proceedings and decisions, and ensure all program principals are appropriately updated about various aspects of program events, situations, and outcomes including following up all decision actions by various staff members. This position will lead packaging of all program materials, development of program briefs, and will support the leadership in facilitating all external liaisons with key stakeholders
Specific Duties
- Manage communications across program staff and between HQ and country program
- Manage all internal and external program deadlines
- Organize meetings with key stakeholders
- Manage Country Program Director’s program calendar
- Organize office engagements including meetings, trainings etc
- Keep meeting notes and minutes
- Work with Admin/Logistics Officer to manage the project office, manage office supplies and equipment including printers etc, support office functions including power supply, utilities, security, communication etc, ensure cleanliness and orderliness of office premises
- Keep and maintain records of program activities as assigned
- Ensure proper filing of all program documents as required
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelors’ degree in management, administration, public relations or related field
- 3-year experience working in a similar position
- Effective communication skills.
- Effective administration/management skills
- Ability to communicate in fluently in English
- Skilled use of Microsoft office software
