The mission of Georgetown University’s Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) (new window) is to support and empower key actors in countries to drive, build, and own sustainable healthcare systems. CGHPI works with partners to respond to today’s health challenges and bring quality services to scale while maximizing resources and achieving the most significant possible impact. The particular focus is to support countries to achieve the end of devastating epidemics, including HIV, and to build effective and resilient systems to respond rapidly to emerging threats.
The Health Services Outcomes (HSO) Data Analyst supports the Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) to utilize data to guide public health interventions strategically and effectively. Responsible for transforming data into comprehensive, concise, and impactful reports, they provide technical assistance and ongoing support, including but not limited to:
- Conduct performance analysis and improvement to recommendations
- Provide aggregation and display of data for all quality activities and initiatives
- Support the implementation of and measure outcomes of HSO projects
- Act as a resource for the collection, analysis, and interpretation of quality data
- Manage quality dashboards
Reporting to the CGHPI Health Services Outcomes Improvement Lead, the HSO Data Analyst acts as a liaison among data science, HSO, and programmatic teams to ensure alignment of priorities and practices/
They also collaborate with the center’s data science team, the project management team, and the health services outcomes team to ensure alignment with program goals, HSO priorities, and best data use practices.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of public health, global health, epidemiology, or related specialties
- At least one year of experience working with data in HIV initiatives
- Working knowledge of HIV terminology
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to understand and probe into technical details
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in creating/generating high-level, complex reports and dashboards (i.e., Tableau)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze quantitative data using statistical software – such as Excel, R, SAS, or STATA – to present data in easily understood infographics and data visualizations concisely and accurately.
